i can be very slow and very busy. i am not always around to write, and when i do write i like to make sure it's good or at least good-ish, so if i'm burned out i'm likely to lurk more than write.that being said, i'm trying to be as active as possible, and this blog will be running on a queue to try to avoid burnout & enable me to have other blogs.

formating
in terms of formatting i tend to keep it light. i use bold, italics, and links for emphasis and small text. small text is really more so for the spacing, as it makes it easier for me to read. never feel like you need to match my style!i have a mix of iconed and iconless threads, as i don't have a live action fc and i likely never will. if you don't use icons, i likely will omit mine. or if your muse is live action.my actual request about formatting is to please please cut your posts. it's a pet peeve, i'm sorry.

portrayal
this blog is primarily based on evolving headcanons and the canon of arcane. as time goes on i might dive more into league lore and incorporate that into my characterization, however as of now i've never touched it.despite this, i am i am open to writing with lol characters, just know my vander will be arcane based.

i am annoyingly eager for ships at all times. if you have even a half a thought about shipping, change are i'm already shipping it. so feel free to reach out to plot a dynamic!vander is bisexual and demiromantic with no real preference regarding gender, however he has other priorities aside from romantic relationships, so it isn't a major focus for him. but when he falls? he falls hard.
regarding vanco: this relationship is very very very complicated, and requires a lot of conversation and plotting regarding individual portrayals. i can see their relationship as platonic or romantic, however there is a lot of baggage there. when going into a general interaction i'll assume they were only ever friends and comrades in arms. however, if you'd like to discuss something outside of that feel free to reach out!

takes place during act 1 of season 1 and slightly beforehand. focusing on the ages powder and violet are during that time frame. vander is running the last drop, raising 4 kids, and trying to keep some form of peace with an agreement with the enforcers.out of the bedrock covered in blisters.( scripture / pre-show )
takes place while vander is still working in the mines and the events leading to the battle on the bridge.you need to fill your own cup every now and again.( s2 ep 7 au )
takes place in the au universe we see in episode 7 of season 2. after losing one daughter, vander shifted his parenting style to really help support powder as she grew older. he continues to run the last drop.

season one variant where vander successfully turns himself in and is sent to stillwater. he's there for about approximately 8-10 years. (there are two ways this can go, either he turns himself in as shown and silco never arrives or silco takes him, and all the events occur as they did in canon. only, when marcus returns to the scene he sees vander is alive. he is brought to the stillwater infirmary and kept in solitary. no one knows he is alive.)fighting like dogs.( s1 variant )
alternate arc where silco never comes after vander specifically, instead taking to the streets. chem barons, the gang violence, all taking over zaun worse than before. vander is still striving to keep his kids safe above all else, but their home is falling apart around them so he is forced to fold. joing the fight once again.

emery's storyline follows her original bio, however her mutant genes do cause some differences. canonical differences include the following:
emery's mutant genes come from her father. while her mother didn't think anything differently of him because of his mutation, her parents did. so when emery spends time with her grandmother while she's in college she endures some pretty awful talk about her birth father. this has the opposite effect and makes her more curious about him.
emery's mutation gives her the ability to control and generate acid that can destroy almost anything. she can change different liquids into acid as well. early in the generation of her abilities she used to do it on accident. while the acid is harmless to her, it can hurt anyone else.
in addition to em's acid control she does have super healing, allowing her to recover more quickly from injuries and she is in peak human condition. however, the latter is largely due to her very active lifestyle.
despite her different parentage and the stigma on being a mutant, emery's siblings never treated her differently, nor did her stepfather. however, she was required to keep the secret from extended family, as they were unsure of how it would be taken.
rather than moving straight to boston after graduating college, emery stays in chicago formally but travels "for work." she builds her freelance business and travels the country and even the world looking for her father. she wants to find out what about him she'd heard is true, she wants to learn if he really doesn't care. while she isn't ashamed of being a mutant, it has always made her feel other in her family. she wants to see where she comes from. she wants to feel less alone.
